Demolition
Out clean, hauled off, ready to build on.
What it is
Scope
We remove play structures, shade canopies, furnishings, fencing, failed surfacing, and the concrete underneath — then haul it off and leave the site graded, as a standalone scope or the first phase of a rebuild.
What We Price For
Old equipment comes apart the hard way: seized fasteners, footings deeper than the drawings show, surfacing bonded to concrete that was never meant to move. We plan and price for that upfront, rather than asking for a change order mid-job.
Footings
We take footings out completely, not cut at grade — a buried field of old concrete turns a straightforward install into a week of jackhammering, and we don't leave that behind.
Who it's for
Schools and childcare centers, parks and recreation departments, general contractors, and municipalities and public facilities.
How the teardown runs
-
Site Assessment
We walk the site, identify what's coming out, probe for footings, check access for equipment and trucks, and flag anything that changes the scope — buried utilities, adjacent structures, restricted access.
-
Planning & Scheduling
We set the sequence, staging, and containment, and schedule around your operation. Schools get summer and breaks, active parks get phasing and fencing, and nobody works next to open play.
-
Removal & Haul-Off
Structures come down, surfacing comes out, footings come up, concrete gets broken out and loaded. Debris is separated where it makes sense — metals to recycling, clean concrete to aggregate, the rest to disposal.
-
Site Clearing
We grade the area, confirm nothing is left below grade that'll surprise the next crew, and hand over a site that's ready for build-out.
What we remove
Play Structures & Equipment
Composite structures, swings, slides, climbers, and freestanding play — disassembled or cut down, depending on what makes sense for the site.
Footings & Below-Grade Concrete
Full footing removal, not cut-at-grade. The site gets cleared to a depth the next install can work in.
Failed Surfacing
Poured-in-place, bonded rubber, tiles, engineered wood fiber, and turf — removed, separated, and disposed of properly.
Concrete Flatwork
Walks, pads, curbing, and slabs broken out and hauled off, including containment curbing that no longer suits the new layout.
Shade & Site Structures
Shade canopies, pavilions, gazebos, and fencing taken down and removed.
Site Furnishings
Benches, tables, receptacles, bike racks, and signage pulled, along with the pads and anchors underneath them.
Live Sites
Most of these sites don't get to close.
Schools stay in session, parks stay open, and apartment communities have residents walking past the work every morning. Demolition on a recreation site almost never happens on an empty lot, and that reality shapes how we run the job — fencing and containment before anything comes down, staging where it doesn't block access, and a schedule built around your calendar instead of ours.
We've worked plenty of summer windows where the equipment has to be out, the concrete has to cure, and the new structure has to be inspected before the first day of school. That sequence only works if the demo phase finishes when it said it would. We plan the teardown against the install date, not the other way around.
Disposal
Not everything has to go to a landfill.
Steel and aluminum go to recycling, and clean concrete can often be crushed for aggregate instead of dumped. Occasionally a structure is in good enough shape that a donation or relocation makes more sense than a teardown — we'll say so before we quote the demo, and walk you through what's divertable on your site so the disposal line in your budget reflects reality.
